The Human Energy Recycle System can gather energy emitted by humans or even pets to power other devices. The system comprises lightweight, compact and portable units designed to be worn in different spots of the human body, which collects energy from spinning, shaking, human heartbeat, body temperature and various other types of movements, and stores the energy in a battery.

Our journey to the compost education center

Stephanie, Megan (Stephanie’s lovely sister) and I journeyed to Greater Victoria’s Compost education center, where we learned all about the benefits and how-to’s of organic farming and composting.

We ventured around the block to our leader’s good friend Geoff Johnson’s digs, where upon we saw the largest suburban eco-garden we’ve ever laid eyes on. He has truly mastered the placement and management of organic and local plants.

Geoff applied every efficient and eco-friendly source we have learned about in sustainable thus far. We saw that he uses rainwater for irrigation in the front yard, as well as solar water heaters to heat a good amount of his household water uses. Geoff also applies drip irrigation to about 70% of his garden, cutting his water use to a great extent.

Over all, Geoff’s garden is the perfectmodel for the future of suburbia and many urban districts for Victoria.

Did you know?

This video gave me a better understanding of how many people actually inhabit this planet, and what exactly they’re doing on it at the moment. This was made in 2008, so if your mind, like mine, is blown by the staggering numbers in this video, imagine what one made for today would look like.
